Shipping Policy

Crafty Market is a marketplace of independent South African shops. Each shop packs and sends its own orders and sets its own delivery rates, so delivery is calculated and charged per shop rather than as a single marketplace fee.

1. Delivery is arranged by each seller

Every seller on Crafty Market manages their own delivery. They choose their courier or delivery method, set their own rates and are responsible for getting your parcel to you. Crafty Market does not operate a warehouse or a courier service.

2. How shipping is calculated

Shipping is worked out on our servers when you check out, using the delivery rates the seller has set and the delivery province you enter. The amount shown at checkout is the amount you pay — it cannot be altered from your browser.

3. Local and nationwide delivery

A seller may set a different rate for deliveries within their own province and for deliveries to the rest of South Africa. Changing the delivery province at checkout recalculates the rate, so always check the delivery total after you have entered your address.

4. Baskets with more than one shop

If your basket contains items from several shops, each shop's delivery is quoted, charged and dispatched separately. You will see a separate delivery line per shop at checkout, you pay once for the whole order, and your parcels may arrive on different days and by different couriers.

5. Shops without a delivery rate

A shop that has not set a delivery rate cannot be checked out. Rather than guess at a price, checkout will tell you which shop is affected and the Crafty Market team is notified so it can be sorted out.

6. Delivery estimates

Where a seller has provided an estimated delivery window, it is shown with their delivery option at checkout. These are estimates given by the seller, not guarantees. Items are handmade and some are made to order, so dispatch can take longer during busy periods. Where no estimate is shown, the seller has not published one — please ask us and we will find out for you.

7. Your delivery information

Please make sure your recipient name, street address, suburb, city, province, postal code and contact number are correct and complete. Incorrect or incomplete addresses are the most common cause of failed deliveries. If a parcel is returned or redirected because the address was wrong, an additional delivery charge may apply.

8. If nobody is available to receive the parcel

Couriers usually attempt delivery during business hours and will try to contact you on the number you supplied. If nobody is available, the courier may leave a notification, attempt delivery again, or hold the parcel for collection. Repeated failed attempts can result in the parcel being returned to the seller, and a further delivery charge may then apply.

9. Delays

Load shedding, weather, courier backlogs, public holidays and peak season can all delay delivery. Sellers and couriers do their best to keep to their estimates, but these circumstances are outside our control.

10. Tracking

Where a seller provides a tracking number, it appears on your order page and in your dispatch email. Not every delivery method offers tracking, so it will not be available for every parcel.

11. If your order does not arrive

Check your order page first for the current status and any tracking number, then contact us at info@craftymarket.co.za with your order number. We will take it up with the seller and courier and keep you updated. If an item cannot be delivered, you are entitled to a refund for it — see our Returns & Refunds Policy.

12. Delivery area

Crafty Market sellers deliver within South Africa. If you would like an item sent elsewhere, contact us first and we will ask the seller whether it is possible.
